Bringing Up Boys by Dr. James Dobson

I'm going to make a big claim. If you have a son (or more) you must read this book. You must.

It is encouraging and challenging; enlightening and reassuring. Dobson has wonderful insight into the minds and spirits of little boys and practical advice on how to help cultivate wonderful human beings.

A pivotal book for any parent of boys. And I hear he is coming out with a counterpart, Bringing Up Girls this year.

i have read it and my favorite line from the whole book is "moms make boys and dads make men". It helped put things in to perspective for me, and having a husband that works a lot it really convicted me to intentionally schedule time for he and the boys to be together.

I also, love this book. I read it last year before I knew if I was having a boy or girl...and boy it was! It's challenging & convicting, but a necessary in a time that too often belittles a man's role in the world. Love it.
